    Derbyshire firms reported better than expected UK sales and orders in the first quarter of the year as the local economy bounced back, according to the results of the region's biggest business survey. The Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce’s latest Quarterly Economic Survey shows that there was a significant uplift in the pace of growth in the local economy, following a marked slowdown in the second half of 2011.
