John Foxcroft, Chairman of Derby-based engineering firm Garrandale Ltd, has retired from the Board of the Derbyshire Enterprise Agency (DEA).
A passionate supporter of local business and enterprise, Mr Foxcroft has served on the DEA Board for 15 years and also retires as its Chairman. He has previously served as Chairman of the Derby and Derbyshire Economic Partnership.
Paying tribute to Mr Foxcroft’s achievements, George Cowcher, Chief Executive of the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “John has been a true champion of local business throughout his long and distinguished career and none more so during the last 15 years and his unstinting service on the DEA Board.
“He has given a lot to the private sector in Derby and Derbyshire in supporting enterprise and start-up businesses and has often gone over and above what has been expected of him in terms of the help and guidance he has given to the many SMEs and initiatives supported by the DEA.
“Meanwhile, in his time at Garrandale, he has established the company as one of the cities premier advanced engineering companies and a large employer in its own right.
“On behalf of both the Chamber and the DEA Board, I’d like to pass on our sincere thanks to John for supporting the DEA for such a long period, along with our very best wishes. He will be an extremely hard act to follow.”
